I'm Jackie!

I’m a senior vis dev artist at MAKE, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Born in Seoul, South Korea, I moved to Minneapolis in 2012 to earn my MFA at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, with a focus on commercial art and design.

With a strong fine art foundation in painting and drawing, I bring over 10 years of experience in digital commercial and entertainment animation. My work spans visual development, pitch deck design, art direction, character design, storyboarding, motion design, and more. I’m a fast learner who enjoys adapting to new creative challenges, blending traditional visual development skills with emerging AI tools to expand what’s possible.

As the creative industry continues to evolve and the uncertainty of human creativity’s future grows, I cautiously look forward to exploring new territory. I believe meaningful, beautiful, and original work can still be made when the balance between the convenience of new technologies and artists' creative fulfillment with intention, imagination, and a strong artistic point of view is established. I want to be part of paving the ways to the future where everyone can make the best of both sides.

When I don’t create, I swim—and I love it like I swim 6 days a week. I have the heart of a sprinter, and one day I’ll race in a competition! I also love consuming stories in every form: movies, RPGs, narrative game playthroughs, shows, documentaries, visual podcasts, and more. My weekends are very low-key, spent catching up on life - mostly house chore - netflix and chill, fighting against my own rumination, and reminding myself of hopes, infinite possibilities and desires for happiness.
